I think I saw that one too, was it a Maroon Z31? The narrator said it was a "high performance sports car" Even if it was a turbo Z that particular model didn't make that much hp, 175 I believe... A Z32 tt couldn't outrun a police interceptor..

I beg to differ. My work car for the past 2 years has been a 2001 Interceptor (and I have raced it with my Q). The Z will outrun it. Matter of fact, some of your turds... I meant 240's... might even have a chance.

HOWEVER - You can't outrun technology. Plus, the personnel driving the cars are much more skilled.

Fun to watch all the same.

Nope. I actually am an agent of the courts. I work for the AZ Supreme Court. My oversight, training and investigation duties require a lot of in-state travel. Since the departments I oversee are considered Peace Officers in AZ (probation), I am eligible for a state-issue police package ride (with undercover plates:D).

Have had a '96 Lumina (sweet!), a '94 Crown Vic, a '01 Interceptor (recalled) and now have a '02 police Tahoe 4x4.

Love the sig line, BTW.

That show has the same lines over and over again...I once heard them call an older model non-turbo eclipse a "high performance sports car". Also, AZhitman is correct, just about any car can outrun a police interceptor crown victoria. I work for the local govt's computer dept and I get to drive on to misc. sites. They are slow and handle like a boat. The only thing those cars can use to catch you is the motorola radio. I actually saw a friend of mine in his 240 on the freeway and we had a little test and he pretty much walked on me :D

Yeah I drove a few when I worked for a vinyl copmpany that had the bid to do the vics and harleys graphics.. They didnt let us drive the harleys but the vic's were no problem. It was cool because they had everything minus the graphics and people just stopped in the on comming lanes and let us turn left. Of course I tested them out on the back road to the shop. They arent that fast and are rather cushy.

I could take one from a go, but they would probably catch up at the higher end. But take me out on a twisty and it wouldnt be a problem :)

Damn Moto is too quick for me though :( One day I wish to be faster then Moto, either that or mount a jet rader jammer in my car and drop out a 50 mile radius :)

I've never really been worried about getting away from the interceptor, it's always been with the interceptor putting out a warrent for arrest.

I wonder if you could ghetto-rig up a plastic sheet to fall over your license plate from the trunk, maybe a translusent piece of fiberglass or something, just for when you were racing, speeding, or doing other illegal acts, and then something to pull it back up. Ya know, just enough to blurr the numbers/letters beyond recognition in case one of our friends in blue sees ya.

We had talked about putting Electochromatic glass over them. The kind of glass that fogs up when you run an electrical current through them. I think that's what it's called, don't flame me, just correct me if I'm wrong. That'd be kinda cool, flick a switch and good bye license plates.

All great ideas, all illegal.

My plate on my old VMax was mounted to the left side of the rear fender. A buddy welded the plate onto a spring that mounted to the plate bracket. At around 40 mph, the wind resistance would overcome the spring resistance and the plate would flip sideways (so the face of the plate faced the side of the rear fender).

Neat trick, but useless - AND got me a $35 ticket and a repair order.

Actually, I was watching once and I did see a cop call off the chase because he was the only chaser and it was late at night. But I'll admit... that's VERY rare.

I just never washed the plate on my bike and with a two stroke it wasn't long before it was totally black. The rear plates on JDM cars are hinged, a lot of people take out the securing bolt and swing em up out of sight, it pisses the cops off something fierce though and they will cite you.

Of course they never show vids of cars getting away from the cops, they want it to set in ppls minds that the cops cannot be out ran. I mean the cars that are actually fast that are shown on there, porsches and Zs, they usually **** up somewhere and wreck :/ But then look at the other cars they are chasing, Geo metros? Old *** Cavaliers? Cheap *** ghetto cars, and most of them actually do give the cops a good fight.
