I have a 1989 nissan 240sx with a 95 s14 motor. I have timed the car to the TEE. The timing was set from the bottom all the way up. The distributor is set on number 1 spark plug and when i go to crank it all it does is turn over and sometimes will backfire but it will never fire. I am getting fuel and im getting spark. If you have any suggestions pleasee help.Thank you

if its backfiring then there is a very good chance that the timing is off, or you have way way way too much fuel in the cyl (leaking injector) i would say that your probably a tooth retarded on the dizzy.

The timing is set perfect, its very aggravating lol, i am going to check my injectors today, the spark plug number one is set with the dizzy cap. i also have tried twisting the dizzy while we were cranking the car, It never fired only backfired.

check for Vac leaks and try cranking with the MAFS unplugged.

I know when I did a H/G on my old 95 it took about an hour of cranking till the damn thing fired up, it was weird, after it started up that one time never had a problem again...

Thanks everyone, i got it started today, i took the distributor out and put it in about 10times i would move it a tooth everytime, i finally got the car started and it idles pretty good but i have a question about the 3 vac hoses coming from under the throttle body, should i just cap them or let them run out into the air because i took the evap system off. And also if anyone knows about the 2 heater hoses on the s14 which goes where on the firewall? THANKS
