wiring question

OK so im getting spark and fuel and my car isnt starting, but i dont have the dash harness plugged in because the *** who sold me the KA-CA harness didnt mention it was for a 91+ with the brown plug(also didnt have a ignitor wired in) i have a 90 which uses the white plug. So i went to the junkyard and got one. so now i bring you this.... so i cut the 6 wires that were wired to the brown plug and wired them to the 6 same colored wire on the white plug but i have all these other unused wires. so my question is...... is this right? is this why my car wont start? i had a buddy who did a sr swap and his cluster caused alot of idle problems

well yeah, it'll cause issues.

I don't recall off the top of my head if the same colors are the same across them but I have an 89 and so the colors should be more or less same as mine, I can check when I get home.. in like 4 hours.

OK yeah the 4 important wires that I took note of are the same between the two, or should be:

Yellow w/ Green stripe: SpeedoYellow w/ Red stripe: TachBlue w/ Green stripe: Thermo Control Amp (part of the AC system, teh ECU cuts this to kill the AC when you go WOT for more powerOrange: 12V / 10A fused Ignition Start signal

the car will run without all except the Orange wire, but you want them all hooked up.

Not sure what else goes through off hand but if you connected same colors you should be fine.
