wipers broken?

so it snowed/ices down here in nc this weekend and i cleared off most of my front window and then figured my wipers could get the rest off, but wen i hopped in the car and turned the wipers on there was a snap and the wiper didnt move... i turned them off and went to look, i cant really see mush so i cleared out the rest of the snow and tried again still no movement, but i can hear the wiper machines turning but the wipers rnt moving... this happened to anyone?if so how can i fix this cause driving with wiper in the rain last night was fun

Sounds like you broke something. I've never taken the wipers apart but I'd look in the FSM for how to do it. I'd take the wipers out and find out what it is. You might just be able to patch it up.

May have stripped the part that the wiper arm bolts to. Take the nut and arm off and see if the shaft or arm's splines are ok or stripped off. Sometimes just the nut comes loose

alright so i got into the wiper yesterday and the motor is fine, but i dont know how many of you have gotten down into the wiper system... but there is a little cap that holds the motor onto the wiper mechanism... and some how that cap like exploded into lots of little pieces ... any ideas on where i can oder one from? im thinking im just gonna have to find a junk yard and get one off a trashed z... but there really isnt one iv found near by...

sorry op to thread jack but my wipers smack the cowl (they go down to much) When i pulled the cap off and removed the nut a while ago i couldn't get the wiper off is there a special way to do this i was afraid of braking something

HA, ya i had that problem too.. im pretty sure that they haddent been take off in 20 years so they were kinda stuck but some liquid wrench and using a flat head for some levage got them off... there really isnt anthign to break there...

haha alright cool thanks. Well with my luck if rip the shaft out of the wiper motor or something.lol
