Okay, looking for some opinions and personal experiences if applicable.

I'm in the Cincy area (colder than ATL, but not MI) and due for an oil change in the next 2 weeks (11/07, will be 800 miles under :)). I plan on making the switch to winter weight, but will most likely be driving the car less than normal over the next 1 1/2 to 2 oil changes (TCS is nice, but I had TOO much trouble last winter) as I'll be driving so "FWD" car (think H or A) and taking the Q out for strolls on REALLY NICE days.

Sooooo, I've used Valvoline Durablend in the car since I purchased in 7/02, but was wondering if going to a full synth would be better for the extended "sitting" the car will do?

Let me here your thoughts?

(I do have an extra set of wheels {OEM BBS} for snow tires, but a "free" extra car is cheaper)

I suppose synthetic would be better, but I dont think there'd be that much of a difference.....

Since your using durablend, Id say that would be good enough.......

Thanks Fred. I searched this forum for winter oil and winterize and didn't find anything as helpful as that.
