A brick hit my windshield on the highway and made a single crack on it from the bottom all the way to the top.

Has anyone had any experience with using Safelite for windshield replacements?

According to them for the R50s there’s either a green shade with blue shade tint or simply a bronze tint. The windshield looks pretty clear enough to me that I can really differentiate which one to choose.

Then there’s always junkyard possibility. But I don’t think that’s a great route.

Safelite replaced my windshield last year and I opted for the green tint. They did an excellent job and my cost was the $100 deductible with my Geico policy. One of the nice aspects of having it done by pro's is that they'll also replace the rubber gasket so you don't have to worry about water leaks. I'd much rather have a windshield installed by people who do it all the time.

Another one in favor of Safelite. They replaced mine a few years ago and damaged the weather seal. They replaced it and did a great job with the windshield. No leaks or wind noise and I'm very happy with the repair.

Yeah decided to go with Safelite and have an upcoming appt. Luckily there was also an $80 dollar coupon available.

I also chose the green tint. What manufacture windshield did you guys receive from them? Just curious as they have some cheaper ones out there that tend to cause distortion.

Mine says "Fuyao AS1 M147 . Chinese obviously but I've had no issues with it.

Got the windshield replaced at Safelite. It was the Fuyao brand as well with the tint and antenna. They did remove the windshield stops though before putting on the new one. Not sure why, maybe fitment issues?

Which one of the weather seals did they damage? The seal running along the side windshield molding going from the front fender to the back door got a tear during the installation. Not sure if they'll replace it as they might use vehicle age as an excuse.

Actually discovered a few days ago that they crushed the edge of the windshield when installing or it was delivered like that before install. Did not see the damage until I removed the side moldings to inspect their work. Have to go back this Friday for new install.

Safelite also broke off the windshield stops from the vehicle when installing the new glass. They did use retention tape after the install and directed me to remove after 2 hours.

Nissan no longer has the stops for the vehicle anymore. Discontinued.

Not sure what can be done about that. According to them it should be fine without it as the urethane holds the glass.
