I have one chip in the windsheild of my Q45. Of course it's directly in my line of sight. I've seen the chip repair advertising, I am guessing they inject silicone or something into the chip.

Do these repairs work? Does it actually fix the chip or just keep it from spreading? Can I still tell there is something there?

The chip will be less noticable, but won't completely disappear. Some insurance companies will repair the windshield and waive the deductible to avoid replacing the glass. So if you have comprehensive coverage, you may be able to try it for free.

The repair is best done right after the incident before grease and dirt enter the fissure.

I had it done on my Q and I was impressed. The guy was here in Jersey and they where called Dr. Chips. Took a smaller than a dime chip and turned it into a tiny dot. It will not be invisible, but it will be much better than the unrepaired chip. Not only that, it was cheap. Like 50 bucks or so and they make house calls. They when to my place of business and did it on the street. Cant beat that.
