Ok so im in the process of fixing my window for this upcoming beach season. So I took the driver side motor and rails. It wasn't too difficult but I ordered the passenger side which i haven't taken out yet. I connected it to the passenger side and nothing happened. I then connected it to the drivers side and it worked perfectly. So I think there might be a cut wire somewhere but im not totally sure what the problem is. I don't know what those original wire were for but the were connected to the after market speakers

I'm not sure which wire does what with the window switches, but I can tell you the bottom picture is where someone cut the speaker wires and ran them directly to the speakers in order to bypass the stock Bose amps.
On the top picture, that is almost definitely why your window isn't working. Try to find where those wires are supposed to go. I'll be replacing the TT's driver window soon, so I'll see if I can help you out when I tear into that.

hey ace got great news on the window situation. I finally have working windows!!!!!!!
I went to sd today and got all the parts i needed for 80 bucks. Man I got the passenger window and the passenger side came alive. I guess you really do need the switch to power the passenger side. but now i got two passenger sides . Im going to install the rails and the driver side window tomorrow. also the guy that sold me the parts hooked it up I got the switch the working driver side motor and rails. the two big screws for the back hatch panel two tt rear hatch struts and the missing window pieces on the A pillar thing. came up nasty.
