My egt was high, it was @ around 950c at around 85 mph and 4k on 5th, and my car didn't seem to have anypower. It seem to be on the high side to me.

well, I figure I'd do myself a favor, and check my timing, sure enough I was about 15 deg off! i was @ TDC!!, set it back to 15 BTDC, and went out for a drive. my EGT is now under 800c at the same speed and rpm. phew...

Now would somebody want to explain to me, why is it. that I was running lean when my timming was retarded to TDC, and better with more timming??? will somebody enlighten me on this fact?? thanks in advance. C and o yes, my car feels soo much better now.

High EGT's don't nessicarily mean lean. Read this;http://www.sdsefi.com/techegt.htm

The REASON for the high EGT's in your case are because the energy from combusting the mixture so late wasn't being used to run the engine and was instead being wasted into the exhaust. You can think of it like the exhaust was still burning in the pipes. (not entirely true, but you get the point)
