I need to get a new rack and pinion for my s13...shopping around I found one for $274. plus shiping of $87. THEN, from the same supplier, I found one for $157 plus $62 shipping, about $100 cheaper! However its for an s14! WTF

So can the rack and pinion for the s14 fit onto the s13? Or must i buy the s13 rack and pinion?

Also if anybody knows where I can find a better deal? Both are remanufactured and have a 12 month 12000mile warranty.

Thanks players

been under the car (s14) once (day i purchased it) , i remember the lines being closer to the doors than the s13's so im not sure. check advanced auto parts online for cross reference. guess you arent getting a solid answer, but im gonna say nope on this one.

Not that I would know the answer to this (he he he) But ……. The 88-94 rack is different in two ways the body is a little bit bigger but this in no biggy because the bushings will make up the difference the next thing is the inner tie rods on the 88-94 they used 12 mm inner tie rods and on the 95 and up they used 14 mm inner tie rods. The overall length on the 95 is a little bit longer but really doesn’t matter there is pleanty of thread there to do what you need. So long and short if you swap out the inner tie rods you can swap out the racks with no problems or you could just contact that Rack Doctor guy he he he and he will steer you rite  Glad you liked the 14:1 ratio rack I thought you would like it. The 14:1 ratio racks are getting really hard to find.

Now I am sure that there will be people that claim I am out of my mind and they may be rite because only someone a little off in the head could build steering systems for 23 years LOL

My door is always open to questions that are steering related so e-mail me if you have any questions I will be happy to steer you in the rite direction

Be well Rack doc
