Will a KA-E starter work in a KA-DE
long story short. this is the 4th time replacing my starter, and i ran across a SOHC starter and even tho i have a DOHC i bought it, it looks nearly exactly the same cept for the openinng for the gear sprocket. will this still work? i go to work when its dark out and get home when its dark out, otherwise i would have tried it already.

I've heard they are the same. Never got to compare them in person though.

they are not shaped the same but when i measured the distance to where the sprocket sits they are both identical.
anyway, i put in this ka-e starter into my ka-de and for some reason its cranking backwards
