Any one ever heard of a car stalling out at a stop when the radio is turned on? I have been having issues with my 96 maxima stalling out at lights every once in a while. But I have turned my radio off and haven't had a problem for over a week. Yesterday I wanted to test my theory, so when I was sitting at a light I turned on the radio and the car stalled. Started it back up, turned the radio off and she ran like a champ the rest of the way home. Any ideas?

Sounds like you're overburdening the alternator somehow. I would start by checking your grounds.

Is your audio system stock?

Do you notice a difference (such as a drop in RPM, dimming of interior/exterior lights, etc.) when you turn on other accessories like headlights, defroster, etc? Or does it only happen with the radio?

intertior lights all seem to stay consistant. When I come to a stop and the head lights are on they dim just a little. When I am at a stop the RPM gage bounces a little from 300 to 700, but not all the time. I have a stock radio. In the past month I have replaced the fuel filter, spark plugs, and have taken it to the mechanic, and the computer tells us nothing.

check the grounds and your wiring on your new installed spark plugs and nissan fuel filter - http://www.shopnisparts.com/nissan-fuel-filter/ - . Or bring it back to your mechanic for further checking.
