Who runs HID with relay

I have had my hid kit installed without a relay for about a year no problems, then one side started to have trouble lighting up until it didnt anymore. So i wired up a relay to run the ballast directly off the battery. Ended up being a fried ballast anyway. SO is runing a relay to the battery the best route for me NEW ballast.

I know people installed HIDS on there J.. anyone wire up a relay?

Yea ill get pics and btw i figured out the relay and have no problems at all since.
