Anything above 45° F, without a aoubt, Michelin PS2. The F1 GSD3 are good also and not far behings.

Track tires are throwaway tires, So not really relevant off the track.

these arent pure track tires, they will last quite a while on street, in my experience i go through normal wet/dry summer tires just as fast as people i know go through sets of these tires listed...bout 12-14k miles on street, little less if you do some track time with them

the poll is almost 3 years old, so yes, we probably could start a new one

Didn't notice the date.

And all of the tires I was referencing are a 140 tread ware or higher. I got two full seasons of autox, an evo and BMWCCA school, and a bunch of other people flogging the car, plus a few thousand street miles on my 615's, and the inside edges are just now getting down to the ware bars.

Any other people who have ran this tire before? It's good year's best tire aside from the supercar one (which is $$$ and doesn't last).
It is my current favorite tire. Not what I am using right now, but plan to go back to them the next tire change.

LOL WOW, memories!

The sidewall on those good years was waaaay too soft omg... and they hardened and crapped out pretty fast.

I run 255/40/17 azenis now :D Looking forward to trying some NT05s next

Heh, bit of an old thread, eh?

For a lower-priced tire, I'd like to compare the Azenis and the Ecsta XS. For heavier cars (my track car is 3700lbs), I was always worried about the Azenis getting greasy, so I stuck with MX's. Haven't been able to try out the XS yet.

I know this poll is sort of old but it forgot the Dunlop Star Specs and Nitto NT05 which are the hot tires now for auto-x and time attack....

I have the Nitto NT05 and they are the real deal as good or better than tires costing 2x as much...like the RE-11 or AD08.

Having purchased personal tires for 44 years [over 40 sets] on high performace vehicles, I've tried dozens of brands and have always ended back up with Michelins.

You always get what you pay for especially in tires. My standards for wet panic braking LONGEVITY may be higher than others, not just how they perform brand new but how they react after 10,000 miles.

I don't know what your budget looks like, but if you can afford them I would suggest Pirelli Pirelli P-Zero Corsa's. I would only wear them at the track though because they are not an all season tire and they cost over $500 each. These are what I have been using lately at the track and I've noticed a huge difference. Only downside is the tred wears down pretty fast, but you'll stick to the track like glue.

I’ve had my eye on these since I saw them in some car magazine. Man I need a tire guy. Anybody know a good tire place in the new york city area? All the ones I’ve been to have been not so great. From bad valves to actual tire damage from those outside clip weights.

Thanks,
