How many other people have a whistling sound from your intake? It became noticable when I put on the intake. It became really loud and lasted longer when I removed the TB restrictor plate. Not too concerned because it's a-ok mechanically, just curious.

Oh don't get me wrong, it growls. It also whistles like a bird at the same time. My car sounds very uh, unique.

Mine whistles. I hear it very well when going past "tight" area's where I can hear the echo usually in a 25 zone past other cars or retaining walls). It doesn't bother me tho.

I can hear mine in the same places, just at low throttle though, when i start to increase throttle it will stop whistling and gradually get into the growling.

i have an injen intake and mine whistles too. i've grown to kinda like it though, and when im bored i try to make it whistle songs. only one tune, but youd get the rythm. anyways, seriously, mine only whistle's when i have the accel pedal down about 1/4 to 1/3 of the way. any more or less and it goes away.

mine whistled when I first put on an intake. I bought a small sheet of thick gasket material and made a gasket for it and it stopped.

Later on, I was doing some work on the car and the gasket fell off and I never replaced it. It whistles again.

I never said I don't like the whistle, I like the uniqueness, but I was also curious.

Mine whistles all the time, whether I'm in an enclosed area or not. I can still hear it even after putting my headers and y-pipe on there

the whistle means that your intake plenum gasket is not sealing. It does not harm anything but it can be annoying.

Mine whistles also, the intake i bought has a gasket and its sealed tight, but it also whistles. I havent had n e issues with it. It reminds me of Turbo spool.

But like the others said once in throttle the whistle turns into a deep throaty growl.

So what is the level of effort involved in replacing this gasket? It sounds like major surgery to get rid of this noise, but I'm curious if you think it needs to be done or not.
