Does facing the sub towards the cabin make it louder than when you face it towards the trunk? by louder i mean to me.

I have never faced my subs forward.... use the trunk to help you ouowards the rear, or up fire them... but don't have them face you!

k cool thats what i was thinking, the reason i ask is because someone recently told me that if i face them inward they would be louder.

is it true the closer to the trunk lid i put the sub the louder

It all depends on how the wave interacts with the boundaries presented by the trunk surfaces. Best thing to do is to play around with the location. Honestly, I'd just put the box up against the seat with the sub facing backward and call it a day.

I had 2 free-air subs in my mustang... 2 12"s that I had mounted onto a plate covered with the same material as the interior, then mounted in the hole when the seats are folded down... so when they were down, it looked like an ILL custom setup!
