OH BOY here is my chance to BRAG... Well since my car is TURBOED I have to use 91 octane. But I've been using it since day 1 on all my cars so it didn't make a difference.

Actually I never got owned. Goto the search bar and type in octane and then drop the menu down to Altima Coupe: 1st Generation (2008 +). You get no results. End of story, I'm still right, Jersey, Canada, Baltimore, Greenville. You all fail.

And FYI I do know how to use the Blinking Search button. Try typing in Octane and categorizing to Altima Coupe. You won't find a single thread titled octane, "you're a noob".

ShiftTab..I concur with your findings with no results if you search on octane by itself. However, if you had broaden your search to "octane gas" as phenom had mentioned or just "gas" as I did, you would have gotten the following results:



And Phenom... being a member for X amount of days on Nico has nothing to do with intelligent searching or use of the search button. We've had member that ask the same thing in 3 different ways on 3 different posts. We also have members that contribute greatly to the Altima community (like myself ) that hasn't been a member for a long time. But then you have the other extreme (like dldjros69 aka sloppy drunk) who hasn't done a damn thing except whine Joking Danny..remember, I articlized your Stillen Header Install. Nice write up BTW!

The Point I'm trying to make is practice due diligence but properly utilizing the search function. If a word doesn't produce a result, try another. We're all here to learn something new and get other people's perspective and or advice. We're a family here on Nico and as families do have sibling rivalries, there should also be more love than hate...

honestly too- octane is a hit or miss- but seriousness should be ethanol consumption. sure our cars can remap for fuels but when we have a biodegradable substance that enhances the absorbation of moisture in our tanks, how much of this crap can our cars handle. the offset to a good clean running car is higher octane. but when we have a chemical that increases basic water levels in a gas tank- who do we come to for that?

im gna thread jack a lil bit- since that "up to" 10% ethanol crap is on most of our pumps now- would it hurt to not only use say 89 (i use it) and IF we go to a pump w/ ethanol- could we go a safe route and use dry gas or something to increase the efficiency and cleanliness of our engines?

im sorta iffy because im down to 2 pumps around me that doesnt mix in ethanol and clearly- my car is not a funny car or F1 dragster lol
