Wassup NICOCLUB! Im a new member to da club and i have a couple questions. Im currently a college student so the finacial status aint dat high at this point yet. lol Im about to buy an S13 but have to choose between 2 vehicles. Both being the same, having stock KA24DE engines. The only diffrence is one is a twin cam the other a single cam. My question is which one would be better buy for me in the long run? The twin or the single cam? Because i plan on rebuilding the engines from block up. Which would i get more power and performance from? I also heard that the single cam S13 doesn't come with power steering and the twincam does, depending on the year? Is this true? Im also planning 2 swap the Ka24de for a SR20DET sometime in the next year in a half or so. If you have any tips or information on these questions please feel to drop some. Thanks, Tomasz

First of all...The single cam is the KA24E...and the Dual cam is the KA24DE..

And the answer is, the DE. Its much easier to tune, and it flows moderately more air than the E.

Also WHY do you want an SR20?

If you have a running KA24..your best option is to boost the KA24..for the cost of an SR engine set by it self you could boost the KA24 and make far more power than a stock SR...

Just informing you. Theres no reason to buy an SR if you have a good running KA unless you just "want" one...the KA will always make more torque in proportion to HP IE a 220hp KA will make much more torque than a 220hp SR.

well dipends on what you want to do to the car go on napa auto and look at the price 4 parts dohc pistons like 300+ sohc 150 and it is the same with a lot of the parts yes i know you can find stuff a lot cheper but you get what you pay 4 but it is a lot cheper to get more hp out of the dohc. I have a sohc and am looking for about 185-195 when i am dun with over sized higher comprestion pistons a cam intake full exost sestem ( any one that wants to fix my spelling go 4 it) and a few other thaings i think i will get it. so it just depends on what your planing on doing to the car if you want big hp go with dohc you can add more.

AMGif you had spent ANY time on google or here; and read for 5 mins. you would have found the answer you are looking for.

Consumer Auto Guide would have answered all your questions.

Why rebuild when your just gonna swap out in a year and a half?
