Well the title says it all.....

This is more/less directed to plenum graduates..... Ive had an array of hoses off, and all of them seem to be fine..... No noticeable INTERIOR deterioriation, and are still very pliable and soft..... However, I havent been under the plenum.....

So which ones are the worst?????

The water and fuel hoses pose the highest risk if they fail. The worst condition one on my car was an air hose that runs underneath the throttle linkage on the drivers side between the plenum and the valve cover. It disintegrated when I pulled the plenum.

Trust me... you'll want to replace them all. After you do this job once, you'll want to be through with it for many, many, years! When they repaired the valve damage on "Q1" after her guide failure (in 1998) they used one used PCV hose trying to save me $$. Guess which one split two months later... Just replace everything that's rubber including the plenum to runner o-rings.

So far (not done the plenum) I have only found the PCV valve hose to be split

Just depressurize it first and you'll be fine... The hose is expensive, but those under plenum hoses are the ones that will start to seep at cold temperatures and give you that gas smell at start-up. At a minimum, tighten the clamps down a little while you're in there.

i heard someone say that you can just use fuel injection hose from like autozone.... That might be the better route.....

Ok.. I got my quote today.... And it comes up to 400 (sans KS harness).... There are many hoses that are over 25, some nearing 40.... Looking at my diagrams (its already paid for itself, oh wait i didnt pay anything :D ), I see that most of them have to do with the secondary air system..... I am on a tight budget, and I dont want to replace hoses just for the heck of it, rather only ones that I will NEED to replace.... when i get a better job I'll do that again in a few years (or when an injector goes out, whichever comes first)..

Daedalus mentioned that the hoses on the valve covers go faster than any other ones, yet Ive take it off and it seems just fine (plus, and internally sound, minus the fact that there is goo inside it).....

When I get some more time I'll get the part code so you all can look them up on your diagrams......
