As some may know I've been waiting many months for mine. The guy I'm going through owns a shop and does excellent work, I've heard nothing buy good things about him. He's currently waiting to get my money back from his second attempt at getting me a motor. He's a cool guy, he's helped me find parts and hooked me up with a few he's had laying around. He's worked on my cars free of charge and made me tools no questions asked. So I don't want to get the authorities involved and make it all complicated. He's worried about getting a motor that's missing parts and cut harness and whatnot.

So, where did you get your CA from? Tell me your experiences! Help me get boosted before it snows!!!

check out FNFmotors.com I've had a few buddies get motors (CA18DET,SR20DET,RB26DETT) And i'm waiting to get my 2JZGTE (should be here tomarrow) They seem to be great people to go through and the people there have been really nice to me since making an order.

Who locally were you going to get one through?

Also i would just hold off. it could snow anyday now. Actually today in 2000 it snowed. so why hurry? Just take your time spring will be here before you know it.

Thanks! all about speed in So Milwaukee is who I'm going through.I've got all the supporting mods to get me to 350-400hp, it's so hard to hold off.

edit: that fnfmotors.com site just led me to a bunch of other sites. Care to elaborate on who you went through?!?

Thank you for that link! He is selling his shop. But he's still working on customers cars. Sounds like you've known him for some time judging by the S13 comment. I've only heard stories about it. He got rid of it, I wanna say maybe two years ago? Or slightly less. But he's working on getting it back.

I don't know anything about him and a VH45DE.

I got mine off of ebay from a place that I dont remember the name of, mine was a full front clip minus the clip.... but it runs great and came with every single part I would need, dont recommend ebay but mine went well, just make sure to get an uncut harness and everything that you will need to drop it in as well as replacing all of the things that are hard to change while the motor is in the car.

I can second that. I got mine off of eBay and I think it'd been sitting in the rain for years...

I got mine from Nagasaki JDM Motors in Canada... I've heard some really really bad stories about them, but my experience wasn't all that bad. The turbo had a blown oil seal and the loom had the AFM plug cut off. Otherwise, it was a mostly complete swap and after getting the turbo rebuilt it lit right up.

My CA went into a KN13 pulsar, so I didn't use about half of what I got from them, just the long block (minus PS and AC) and ECU...

Note, I'm not saying anything for or against them, just my own personal experience.

i got mine from JapaneseStarMotor in Albany, NY. VERY good place to deal with. my harness was a little cut, but was nothign i couldn't handle. I'd recommend them. for $1,400 shipped, it couldn't be better. no leaks, no nothing. Turbo pushes 12psi all day no problems what so ever, mine doesn't even have the NOTORIOUS cold start problem really? suprisengly, it doesn't act weird when cold at all. probably not because of the company but im just excited about it lol. I dont remember the guys name that i talked to, but it was a very good experience, just ask them for everything you need and they should hook you up.

That's where I got my first CA from. It was an absolute pile of garbage. No harness, no ECU, no MAF, dented/creased oil pan, etc.. They basically told me to outsource it, and they would reimburse me. It took me 32 days to track everything down (over $300 worth of stuff) and when I called them to let them know, they told me they wouldn't reimburse me since it was beyond my 30 day startup warranty.

Worthless ****bags and the motor dropped a valve guide after about 1000 miles.

I got my current CA18 from RIP Garage in Atlanta. This motor has been absolutely PERFECT.
