do you think the moldings actually helps protecting the doors? I mean say you parked in a lot and cars next to you are at different height, their door will still mark your car, wouldn't it? Freankly I don't think it would stop shopping cart either...

Well, you can always sit around and wait till you get your first ding, then if it's in the location of where the B/S/M's would be installed, buy them at that time.
