wheel size??

Hey all, im looking at buying new tires for my aftermarket rims and was wondering if the size 205/55/r16 will fit without any issues.......im talking about rubbing, bottoming out.....that sorta stuff. Now im not sure about any specs on the rims because i bought them used. They came with 205 tires on them already, does it matter if I go to a smaller width? I mean instead of putting 205 tires back on it if I go to 195. ( I mean are rims meant to have certain width tires?)if im going to have any issues with the 205/55 tires I dun't wanna put them on.

go for the 205. I just ordered mines. If you go to low in ratio you are gonna end out with an ugly appeareance as the factory ones give and wont improve in anything stability or traction or anything :s ... the wider the better unless it's out of the bumper, then its..............

thanks guys for the answers. I went with the 205/55/16 size, looks good but there is a little vibration on the highway im going back on monday. I will post some pics soon
