i have sport max wheels with 0 offset on my Z and i am planning on getting some SSR's. so here is my question. . . i want to keep the same back space that the 0 offset has but want a bigger lip. i was thinking about a inch and a half more lip. so what would my new size be? . . . i was thinking 17x9.5 in the back and 17x9 in the front ( with ZG flares ). . . but the offset part is where i get lost. i know it wouldnt be a 0 offset bcs that would make my backspace for the wheel like 5 inches, right!?! so what will it be . any info on this would be appreciated. thnx

I fixed your titel

a +0 8" wide wheel barely clears stock suspension and body, if you want wider you either need to go coilovers whick allows for more positive offset wheel, or you flare the fenders to allow for a negetiveoffset wheeel which si what you want, the problem is that negetive offset wheels aren't terribly common these days, and if drastically increases your scrub radius which makes the car harder to steer so to fit that extra inch or inch and a half you's need a -25 to a -40 to clear the stock suspension and fit within your standard ZG flares, or you can select a wheel that is designed to show more "lip"

so to get a 5 inch lip on a 17x9.5 wheel or a 16x9.5, and maintain the same back space that my 16x8 with zero offset. . . i would need to order a -25 offset for the 17x9.5?

25mm is one inch, so a 1" wider wheel with a -25 offset would stick otu fomr the body one inch further, some wheels might not give oyu that full inch in the lip, but you'd get it on the offset
