Hey check this out. I wonder is this has ever happend to anyone but my wheel came off!

well the studs broke and only one bolt was holding on my wheel!! scary stuff. but i pulled over before anything major happend except..

my hub, maybe bearing.., spindle and caliper bracket and wheel all got damaged.

so I would like to ask if anyone has these parts sitting around and would like to sell them to me in southern california.

thanks

That's messed up!!! Did you over tighten the lug nuts or something??? I can't see why else that would happen. Well, sorry to hear about what happened though.

yah it sucked I was on the way up the mountain to go snowboarding .. luckly i was goin slow up the mountain cuz it didnt feel right.. it was scary when i was stuck there with cars going around a turn and not seeing me there. but yah i dont know how they broke.. only thing i can think of is from years of the previous owner going to auto shops and they impacting the nuts on. and then taking me wheels off and on..me jumping on the lugnut spindle to get them off. I have herd of it happening to hardcore autocrossers.. i guess from removing wheels all the time. ohwell coulda been worse eh :(

:( sorry to hear that. Which wheel was it?

I had a buddy of mine who lost a wheel on the highway on his transam and subsequently smashed it up beyond repair.

The same thing happened to my brothers car but he was driving an intrepid with 18's. Apparently the shop he bought his rims from didnt put the required spacer on his car and there was a gap between the hub and rim and caused too much stress on the studs and caused them to break one by one.

i'm sorry, but where this spacer goes? and what exactly is offset on a rim?

The spacer goes inbetween the rim and the hub. It was only required for the particular rim he bought.

4 is how many studs to hold your wheel on

114.3 millimeters

That is how far your studs are apart from another(diameter), (I'm pretty sure that is right)

offsett expla (scroll down)

There is an explanation of offset, I'm sure there are better ones, but that works...
