Has anyone ever changed wheel bearings on their s13? I've got a pretty bad squeak and I'm hoping its gonna be a simple brake job but I will find out this weekend when i take it all apart. Im just curious as to how much is involved in installing new bearings.

Back in the day, before i would dare work on a car i had one done. Dont know exactly how to do it but it only cost my 150 with labor. When i checked autozone at the time just the part was like 130.

The wheel bearings are supposed to be 'lifetime' of the car, according to the FSM. I believe that the rears can't be replace without replacing the entire assembly. I can't remember about the front, but I think it's the same deal.

I've never heard of anyone haveing them going out on a 240, hmmmm. I've done them on a 63 Plymoth Grandy Fury III about a million times, but those were designed to come out.

"Lifetime" is the improper term here. a better explanation would be to say "non-seviceable" or "sealed-bearing assy". please be aware that bearings can and do fail, and usually require press-fitting, aka not a backyard job. take it to a reputable shop in your area.

THe wheel bearings are inside the hub AFAIK, so you can just replace the hub (which is easy work).
