I'll try this again. I didn't to many responses in the SR20DET forum. I guess its not as active. Anyway......

Whats up fellas? I'm new to the board, obviously. Anyway I have a black '97 240sx SE/LE 5spd that is completely stock. But just recently I received my S14 SR20DET. Its a my buddy's shop and we are going to be installing it very soon. The car will be transformed into a track whore! I used to have a 2001 integra type R that I used as my track car until some individual found the out that they liked it more than I did and decided to take it from me while I was asleep (it was stolen)

Anyway I have a new project and its my 240sx :) Any suggestions regarding the swap from past experiences would be greatly appreciated. I will post questions accordingly ask I begin on this project.

For those who are interested in what class the 240 will compete...well I will start of in Super Unlimited II (maybe Super Unlimited I due to hp output) and definitley Super Unlimited I when I upgrade the turbo :D I'm in the progress in hopefully running in USTCC with the 240 but I believe I can only do that with the stock turbo. Details later

Well just wanted to say whats up....

I plan on doing this swap, but into my s13. I imagine it should pretty much bolt up good, b/c it's made for that chassis. The real problems with engine swaps just come with the wiring. I'm not good with electrical stuff, but maybe that thought can get someone technically minded in here.

Seth, welcome to NICO! I hope you find this site to be informative and entertaining. You will find a LOT of information on any given subject through the "search" function in the upper right corner. Any questions related to what you have found feel free to post up.

The SR20DET forum is generally very active. Keep an eye out there as it is directly related to what you are doing.

What kind of cage are you going to install in your car? Custom? Pre-fabbed? Mild steel? Chromoly?

Dude, sucks about your other car. But it was for the best. Now you have a 240. :) LOL Just joking. That does suck. Hopefully you will find them and get a little justice.

Welcome to the board.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I just hope the swap doesn't get ugly :( But to answer a couple of y'alls questions...

Repo Man (Andy)...I'm not sure what kind of cage I'll get. My racing buddy knows this guy who is really good and builds custom cages so I am going to leave it up to him. I would love to get a chromoly cage though but I have to see what kind of money he wants for that.

Jester....[rant]It's almost been a year and nothing yet. The detective working the case said that all he could do is wait and see if it shows up in pieces. That's our fine police department :angryfire To give you an idea of how crappy they are here, they took the police report over the phone, SLACKERS.[/rant]...sorry

later,

Seth

If I wind up keeping my car, I am going to install a pre-fabbed 4 point roll bar in my car. It can be added on to at a later date to become a full cage. If you want to check out another source go to http://www.tracksidesupply.com Email Jason (the owner) and tell him what you need. He has several options for 240's. Tell him I sent you.

The one I'm looking at is $450, which does not include install.
