Probably gonna have to roll rear fenders at leastjzhlax11 wrote:I'm looking into getting 20x8.5 +32mm offset. Tires would be 245/35/20. I'm lowered on Eibach's.
Would this setup rub?
Thanks guys

I was thinking of running the 20s all around, or run 19s up front & 20s in the rear.
19x8 +40 225/40/19
20x8.5 +40 235/35/20
What do you guys think? I'm also concerned about taking sharp turns & the tires rubbing inside the wheel wells which is why I am considering 19s up front. Also, what is the factory offset on a 2012 2.5 SL with the 16s? Thanks, guys.

Tire size has a lot to do with preferences but like others have said, try to keep your overall diameter as close to stock as possible to preserve your ride quality.KilLer_KenZz wrote:Hey everyone. I did some poking through this thread, but I didn't see much.
I just got new wheels, MB Twist, and I need to know what tires I should be looking at. I have a general idea, I think, but the specs of the wheels (which the site conveniently does not show) are:
18x7.0, 114.3x5, 73.1 Hub, and an offset of 50. What kind of problems should I expect to run in to, and what should I be looking for. Any help would be appreciated
*forgive me for sounding like a noob to this sort of thing, because, well, I am.
What are the offsets on the wheels? That will tell us whether or not they'll fit. Offset is not something that you add, it's a characteristic of the wheel. And you won't need spacers.JdsCoupe wrote:I apologize in advance for how dumb I'm about to sound:
Would an 08 coupe with no drop be able to do 18x8.5 fronts and 18x9.5 rears? With/without drop? Would I need spacers, offset, ect? I'm absolutely clueless when it comes to suspension/wheels (I'm more of an under-the-hood kind of guy). My car is a daily driver and I'm pretty aggressive when I drive. I'm looking for comfort and handling similar or better than the stock tires/rims on the 3.5se. If the rims will fit, what tire size would you recommend? I want it to look and drive good.
Thanks to whoever actually answers this
Actually decided against those wheels. Found what I want, 20x8.5 +38 Privat Netz wrapped with Nitto NT 555s. Would I be better off doing with 235/35/20 or 245/35/20 tires (I'm thinking 235/35/20 cuz it's closer to factory measurements for speedo)? I'm on stock suspension now but will most likely be getting an eibach drop in the future, if that'll change anything.AlexM. wrote:What are the offsets on the wheels? i'm not worried so much about the speedo (both are within 1.2% of stock) as the rims not getting damaged from the thin sidewalls (there are a TON of potholes around where I live). 245/35/20s would have a little bit more sidewall than 235/35/20s, correct?AlexM. wrote:No problem. Whichever overall diameter is closest to stock will be better for speedo. I might look into rolling fenders once you get new springs in the future.
If you're on 20x8.5 +38, you should be fine without rolling.JdsCoupe wrote:any problems with 245s + eibach drop? thanks for your help, i really appreciate it.
