I'm looking into getting 20x8.5 +32mm offset. Tires would be 245/35/20. I'm lowered on Eibach's.

Would this setup rub?

Thanks guys

How much do the OEM 18" rims from an '11 A/C weigh?

I looked in the owner's manual, no luck.

Hey, all. New to the boards as well as the Altima. Just wondering if anyone could help with another question you've heard 100 times. Will they fit?

TSW Carthage

20x8.5 +40 235/35/20

I was thinking of running the 20s all around, or run 19s up front & 20s in the rear.

19x8 +40 225/40/19
20x8.5 +40 235/35/20

What do you guys think? I'm also concerned about taking sharp turns & the tires rubbing inside the wheel wells which is why I am considering 19s up front. Also, what is the factory offset on a 2012 2.5 SL with the 16s? Thanks, guys.

You should be fine, but I don't know that you'd want to put the smaller ones up front. The only reason that would make sense is if you're super concerned about weight.

I should be fine running 20s all around? The only reason I considered the 19s up front was to decrease the chance of the tires rubbing inside the wheel wells on turns. However, I see others running 20s all around without issues. Just want to be sure they will be good before placing the order.

20s should not cause any problems - as long as you're also paying close attention to the width, offset, lug pattern and arrangement, and tire size.

You definitely want to preserve the diameter of the tire, and keep it as close to stock (26.3"). Any differences will affect your speedometer and odometer. To preserve the overall diameter, the sidewall of the tire used should decrease as the width of the wheel increases. That's why you sometimes see very large rims inside of little rubber band tires.

As long as the overall diameter is pretty close to stock, and you're not running a very wide wheel/tire, you shouldn't have any problems with rubbing.

You will also want to consider the offset of the wheel. The offset determines how far the mounting bracket is from the center, and could possibly affect where the wheel and tire are horizontally positioned.

Don't forget you need to get a wheel with a 5x114.3" lug pattern You might need to invest in some hub rings if the wheel does not fit snuggly. Although it's not a must, it will definitely improve your ride if there is any gap.

But we can't say for certain whether the wheels you're looking at will fit. What is the width of the wheel and the offset? And what kind of tire size are you planning on using? Also, is your car lowered?

Here are the specs on the wheels. Not lowered. What do you think?

This calculator is helpful:

http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

If you run a 8" wheel with +40 offset in the front, and a 8.5" wheel with +40 offset in the back; the rear wheel will be 12mm wider, and will stick out 6mm more on the inside and 6 mm more on the outside.

If you want your wheels to sit flush, you want the outer position to be the same. That means different offsets if you get different wheel widths.

Hey everyone. I did some poking through this thread, but I didn't see much.

I just got new wheels, MB Twist, and I need to know what tires I should be looking at. I have a general idea, I think, but the specs of the wheels (which the site conveniently does not show) are:

18x7.0, 114.3x5, 73.1 Hub, and an offset of 50. What kind of problems should I expect to run in to, and what should I be looking for. Any help would be appreciated :dblthumb:

*forgive me for sounding like a noob to this sort of thing, because, well, I am.

I apologize in advance for how dumb I'm about to sound:

Would an 08 coupe with no drop be able to do 18x8.5 fronts and 18x9.5 rears? With/without drop? Would I need spacers, offset, ect? I'm absolutely clueless when it comes to suspension/wheels (I'm more of an under-the-hood kind of guy). My car is a daily driver and I'm pretty aggressive when I drive. I'm looking for comfort and handling similar or better than the stock tires/rims on the 3.5se. If the rims will fit, what tire size would you recommend? I want it to look and drive good.

Thanks to whoever actually answers this :)

Tire size has a lot to do with preferences but like others have said, try to keep your overall diameter as close to stock as possible to preserve your ride quality.

As for the wheel itself, you'll be fine. Those wheel specs are less aggressive than stock wheels. As a matter of fact, you can just run the same tires that come with a stock 3.5. What I would recommend getting are hubcentric rings to reduce vibrations since your car's bore size is 66.1 and the wheel's is 73.1. A 73.1 to 66.1 hubcentric ring is what you'll need.

What are the offsets on the wheels? That will tell us whether or not they'll fit. Offset is not something that you add, it's a characteristic of the wheel. And you won't need spacers.

Actually decided against those wheels. Found what I want, 20x8.5 +38 Privat Netz wrapped with Nitto NT 555s. Would I be better off doing with 235/35/20 or 245/35/20 tires (I'm thinking 235/35/20 cuz it's closer to factory measurements for speedo)? I'm on stock suspension now but will most likely be getting an eibach drop in the future, if that'll change anything.

Thanks for the response on the other question btw :)

No problem. Whichever overall diameter is closest to stock will be better for speedo. I might look into rolling fenders once you get new springs in the future.

i'm not worried so much about the speedo (both are within 1.2% of stock) as the rims not getting damaged from the thin sidewalls (there are a TON of potholes around where I live). 245/35/20s would have a little bit more sidewall than 235/35/20s, correct?

Yeah, that's correct. about 3mm more. The 245's will also be more comfortable

Roll your fenders and 20s on 245 should be fine. Do some research to make sure first though. I'm sure you can find a thread where someone has 20's on 245 with lowering springs

If you're on 20x8.5 +38, you should be fine without rolling.

Planning on getting 18x9.5 wheels. I'm on stock height, with a possibility of dropping on eibachs in the future. What would the best offset and tire size be?

^ This is a great supplement to this thread. It's a more general understanding about the fundamental concepts of wheel fitment whereas this thread is specifically about how wheel/tire combos in certain dimensions will fit.
