Installed a new clutch about 2k miles ago. Exedy stock replacement. Autotech class at school did it. Everything is fine, except when i drive it hard. Whenever i drive it hard for example, shifting from third to 4th, i'll shift at 4500 or so revs drop to 4k as clutch is engaged, revs stay constant untill i wait a few seconds and it catches up and revs advance past 4000. So the revs stay higher than they should and stay there until the engine speed slowly catches up. What could be causing this? Do i need to bleed my clutch? if so how do i even do that. Thanks.

Does it occure more or at least more dramatically in higher gears? Does it feel like the clutch is slipping? If so, you may need to check the pedal freeplay and clutch pedal adjustment. It may not be letting the clutch engage completely.

I'd say more dramatically in higher gears, yes. It does feel as if it's slipping and it shouldn't cause it's new. My pedal has some freeplay like i can push it a little and it won't do anything at all.

I replaced the clutch on my car with a slightly better than stock replacement clutch. It began to slip as I would get on the gas, so I took it back to the shop. He got me to drive it around until it was slipping pretty bad, then adjusted the freeplay while it was hot....this fixed the problem and it's been since last november and not the slightest hint of a slip-

for a full step-by-step procedure... goto 240sx.org n click on to the amarok mailing list link... do a search on clutch pedal freeplay & rogoman is the guy w/ the answers.

alternate search is to goto yahoogroups... he's there as well.

I have a FSM but too lazy to type it up. now, if only i got my newer pc up n running, i would scan the pages for you.
