Vote or add your favorite music genre. I know no one listens to just one, but what's your favorite and why.

Anyone who has seen my metal thread knows what type of music I'm most into, even though I listen to anything from country to trance music. I don't like radio friendly Pop Crap, but hey if that's your thing that's cool.

Give me an example of Melodic Death Metal. Is it like Children of Bodom or In Flames?

Pure Metal means like Ozzy Osbourne, Deep Purple, Led Zepplin, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Dio and such. I like straight metal all the way. I'm into JDM metal too, but it looks like no one in the forum is into it. Also listen to some technical instrumental stuff like Paul Gilbert, Joe Stump, Yngwie, Satch and Vai. Most important thing to me is guitarists must be talented, unique and creative.

Prog stuff - Dream Theater, Symphony X, Kamelot, Spock's Beard, etc etc etc...

I also would add "Video Game Redux" because some bands like Powerglove are really cool.

Good choice. I like progressive too, but some bands are boring. I don't know why, but I never got into Dream Theater although they are good musicians. I tried really hard to listen to their music and understand, but it never worked. Their performance is not that exciting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3O4HOMPD-1E

Saw Symphony X and Michael Romeo was good. They opened for Yngwie.

I like old school prog bands like Pink Floyd, Rush, Klaatu, Rose, Camel, Uriah Heep and Yes...etc.Klaatu: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBAri8ErKGoUriah Heep: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_H3IR6XBRI

Yea, In Flames pretty much invented Melodic Death(don't quote me)

Love Michael Romeo, a lot of people hate on him because he's fat. People are so stupid.

I also love Jazz. My favorite singer has to be Sade, she is beautiful and her voice sends chills down my spine. Her music is very sad though.

Sade- I Couldn't Love You More

I like mostly metal. Trying to put them all in a particular catagory will give me a headache. I like bands like Pantera (I actually had the pleasure of meeting and drinking with Dimebag twice), Testament, Anthrax, Opeth, Dream Theater, Machine Head, Trivium, older White Zombie and too many others to list

Some rock like Van Halen, U2, Extreme, Satriani. A little blues- Robert Johnson, BB King, Miles Davis, Eric Clapton. Billy Joel and Elton John and Radiohead are another of my favorites.

I'll listen to everything except country, while I can understand that many of the artists are talented, its like nails on a chalkboard for me.

I listen to r&b classic and new, I just like the chill factor, I used to listen to all that hardcore stuff and rock, moved to electronica and stuff like that too, pretty much moved with the trends, until r&b just grew on me, my girlfriend likes it and I can still thump pretty hard in the car too.

So R&B PEOPLE VOTE!!!

I voted 'Electro' assuming it meant Techno\Trance\House

I'm turning into a huge House Head now. I go clubbing as much as possible. I love dancing to it, I've even been making my own recently. Just can't seem to get enough of a good beat.
