Balut isnt bad. I usually pour two or three of them right into a glass before I hit the gym...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...latedNote: - The cheerfull upbeat music- The fact that you can see the shape of the animal- The other titles of simmilar videos: "How to eat a Balut egg (aborted duck in egg shell)" and "Avian Cell Culture - headless duck fetus with beating heart "

Among my favorites are octopus, turkey nuts (yes, testacles), raw oysters on the half-shell. Beef heart is o.k., too. Something I tried recently but didn't care for at a local Chinese restaurant was the jellyfish/boneless chicken feet combo that's served cold.

I don't see menudo, sushi, kimchi and the like as being that exotic because they are really commonplace here in southern California.

Turkey Testicles?!?

I thought cold chef boyardee would gross people out but I was sadly mistaken. Oh well, at least I won't be hungry for the rest of the day.

Thanks guys.

Oxtail is "da bomb".

I braise it in barolo wine with a bouquet garnie and serve it with with a cauliflower/potato puree, swiss chard cooked in duck fat, and parmesan crisps.

If you don't like regular cole slaw, you'd probably like mine.

Mine has *zero* cream in it, no glop, nothing. It's all vinegar, sugar, celery seed, and other stuff. Gives it almost a "pickled" flavor, great acidic counterpoint to a heavy dish. It's almost like a Japanese pickle (i.e. tsukemono), but with the celery seed and mustard undertones (it's got powdered mustard in it).

I put it on big kaiser rolls with 2 deep-fried softshell blue crabs. It's outrageously good. Anyone who visits our shore house will get this as "the special".

No one mentioned Chorizo? Can't eat it like is used to due to the devistating heartburn I get from it. It's not so bad until you read what the stuff is made out of.

My oddball combo is peanut butter and honey on saltines.

^ whats so gross about Chorizo? Balut is easily 10x the gross factor of Chorizo.

I think you were thinking about Morcilla er.. Morcilla-cocida or "Blood sausage" as I've heard many call it, but if those names don't ring a bell look up "Black Pudding"

Birria can also be a suggestion but that ish is as hell

True but they don't serve up that stuff!...

There's a Filipino restaurant in Vegas my wife and I go to all the time. It's called Pinoy Pinay and OMFG, there food there is awesome.

This is called Kare-Kare. It's made from ox tails and beef tripe (stomach) in a peanut butter sauce. Really good if you don't know what you're eating
