OK well this is what I got.

The one thing I noticed is, when my TV is set to 1280x1024, my mouse can go from corner to corner of my tv. When it is set to 1280x800, my mouse' limits are to the image of the background (or the green lines I put with MS paint)

IDK, maybe this will solve it. Thanks for the help MoD

That's just weird. The screenshot aspect ratio is 4:3. WEIRD.

Can you take a picture of the TV showing that same image?

Yeah, as I thought, the TV image is stretched. Or squished, depending on how you look at it.

The real issue, I think, is that your TV is not properly adjusting it's zoom/screen size mode. That's why you can't move the mouse outside the desktop background area.

MoD, if you look at the last picture I sent, you can see the mouse on the black bar above the MW2 image...

Only when on 1200x800 does it not allow me to put the mouse above the MW2 image.

EDIT: also do you have an extra keyboard or an extra "Q" key for an Inspiron 6000?

I am now running two 24" LCD monitors side-by-side at 1920x1200 each ... so effective resolution for some spreadsheets that I work on is 3840 x 1200! :yesnod

Wow, that's a big spreadsheet!

BTW, what happened to the "poll" part of my poll?

1920x1200 on 24" iMac, 1440x900 on 15" Macbook Pro, and 1680x1050 on Windows 7 machine (22" monitor).

I love the iMac screen and I plan on upgrading to the new 27" model when I get the funds.

Also, glossy screen FTW

I despise glossy screens, and that's actually one of my primary monitor choice criteria. No glossy screens. Glare is definitely not awesome.
