I was told by my mech. today that I have a bad coil and there is no way to find which one and that all would have to be replaced. Am I being scammed or is there some way to test these coils. I understand alot about electrical parts and how to ohm them i just figured ther would be some way to test them.

Easy and foolproof coil test.

1. Remove cover plates that are over coils.2. While car is running, disconnect then replace the plug going to each coil, one at a time. 3.When you disconnect the plug, and the engine starts running poorer, that coil is good. When you disconnect the plug, and there is no change at all, that is your bad coil.

Will it still do this even if my misfire only happens about once or twice a day?
