What is cheapest way to soften rear suspension?

besides putting 200 lb sandbags in the back.....

89 d21 hardbody 4wd (ATO)

any suggestions?

To soften the rear suspension, you can remove some leaf springs, however, some payload capacity will be lost, there is ALWAYS a tradeoff.

Lose the overload leaves, but as stated, you'll bottom out a lot more when you hit big bumps. You'll also lose a bit of ride height.
