Cause I play drums

I'm a percussion instructor at a high school, anybody else hit stuff with sticks?

Nope, but oddly enough 5 of my 8 closest friends are drummers. 2 play in the Pistons drumline. I want to learn someday. I'm sure I wont have trouble getting a lesson.

I play drums, badly. I also hit people that annoy me with sticks.

Been a drummer/percussionist for 20 years. Played set for 15. Also was assistant instructer for the percussion secion my first year out of high school on a volunteer basis.

I have forgotten most of my basic rudiments since I have been playing set. I need to get back to basics on a snare and relearn my chops.

Got any good websites for a guy looking to relearn the rudiments that have printable sheet music?

Dude, THANK YOU...that is awesome. I have heard some of those in years....lol.

And you know, practicing on a pad like that is so much easier than on an actual snare, only because, each person tunes there snares different ways. I like mine kinda loose and sloppy for that really good deep warm pop. Guys that have their snares tuned really tight have good response from the heads. Piccaloes are great for that kind of thing. I need to invest in one of those pads. Off to musicians friend I go...lol!

I like my snare to pop and shut up almost immediately. I have an 8" deep snare though so it still has a deep tone but the note is breif.
