what does the ARC oil catch can do?

and does it worth $420???

It looks pretty much like any other catch can only it is designed to fit the Z. Might be bigger than a universal model but functionally should do the same thing. Catch cans merely catch oil and unburned hydrocarbons that are present in the crankcase. Normally, this mixture is simply routed right back into the intake stream ahead of the throttle body to be burned in normal combustion. A catch can merely reduces/eliminates the amount of oil and hydrocarbons that are reintroduced in combustion by providing a place for the particles to condense. It will do virtually nothing for performance in the immediate sense, but will help reduce some of the oil build up in the intake tract. I tend to find catch cans more useful for turbos however as crackcase air is generally routed before the turbo and can cause a small build up of oil and dust on the compressor blades. Even then, it isn't critical. I wouldn't pay as much as the 350Z specific versions are going for regardless.

in other words, not worth it! if the 350z needed an oil catch can than nissan would have put in an oil catch can.
