So i found myself wondering..what does everyone look for when they are looking at buying a car..i know personally i am always checking rust since i live in the midwest and the salt doesn't get much worse..another thing i check is oil filter and plug wires cuz i figure the better grade of stuff on this car the more this person cared about it so it probably has better maintneance history..add on more

i would personally look for engine maintenance... if the engine is no good, well then theres no point.. yes you can do a swap but its always a hassle for some...

as far as the body goes, that is a natural cause... rust... dents.... paint chips...

can be fixed, not as important as engine history... and any accidents with the car.

For me if i am buying a new car the first thing i look for is the warranty period. However, if i am buying a used car the first thing i look for is the service record.
