what's up everyone, name's AJ and I drive a 96 eclipse gst. good car, but basically I want a FR car. decided on the 240sx cuz everything else is too expensive. I've read a **** ton on this forum already, but here's my issue:

I like roadracing and drifting. decided on the sr20 because it balances the chasis nicely, and reliability of an already turbo'd engine (or as reliable as a turbo engine will be) but it will prob. be a year, maybe 1 1/2 before it goes in.

1. do I put intake, headers, exhaust, pulleys, etc. on the ka or do I save up for the swap? I'm putting down around 200-220 whp in the eclipse. will I be happy with the I/H/E/P? it's lighter than my eclipse, so 160-170whp will feel ok.

2. If I save, do I do suspension and wheels/tires, or do I wait for the engine and then start building? same with brakes?

Anyone living in dallas/fort worth area, please hit me up at my email, I'd love to check out cars and setups, learn more by seeing than reading. sorry for the long post...:)

An appropriate answer heere would be "yes"

You could do turbo Exhaust etc. But wasting time with piping for NA won't be worth it. Heck I'd have some fun with suspension but just depends what you want and how much money you have. Or you could do the engine work first since you know you want that. While your waitng just get famillliar wihth you car etc.. Then when you have your swap you will have money to spend on things that need help most. (Maybe it takes you 300 feet to stop, or maybe your supension is sagging...) I'd say just about every person who has come to this forum has asked a similar queston...

putting I/H/E would be a waste, well the header would be, for now, do intake and exhaust. Only prob there is 3in is ideal for turbo, not the KA. If I were you I'd work on suspension for now. Honestly your not gona get much out of the KA unless you really dive into it, and that would be a waste later on. Suspension will stay with the car. Its gona suck going from a fast car to a slow one.

Good luck.

yeah, going to a slower car is gonna suck, but I can deal with that because it will be a better car in the long run. you guys are right, prob. will slowly work on suspension and learn to drive a rear wheel drive car.... Hey John, do you know if anyone with 240's/nissan's get together or anything in dfw area? the dsm'ers meet up every month to have lunch or something. Thanks for the reply, fellas!(great drifting weather we're havin' here;-)

see ice, i hear ice! i considered building an iceman in the front yard. funny, i thought it was mid 60s yesterday in Dallas, and now it's 30 or below. My mom said the yesterday it was warm in the morning and then got colder, but 200 miles south in college station (where i went for auto-x) it was windy and cloudy and warmed up to mid 70s yesterday, and i got sunburned! my car said it was 76 when i left the auto-x at 4:30, and when i got home at 7:15 it said 39 (note: the traffic on 45 goes really fast, hence the exceptional speed).

i'd love to get together sometime with u guys, but i always seem to have to work on days of the meets. i don't know any other 240 enthusiasts around here. a little horror story on the side....i was out enjoying the ice tonight and i saw a ghetto-fyed black 240 coupe, complete with the *upgraded* hubcaps and silver windshield wipers to add some bling bling and accent the black on the car and the 2 occupants. I tell ya it was sacrilegious.

Hell yeah, it sleeted like a mother last night, there's about and inch and a half outside- said ***** you to work, but school is still opening at 12pm- no one will be there, I'm sure. (Tarrant County College) I'm thinking of going with the JIC FLT-A2 coilover kit. Probably carbon fiber front/rear strut bars also. I know they all do the same thing, but I plan on showing the car too, and apc strut bars just don't grab you the same;)
