Put some dampening material in the rear door panels.
Still had a very slight buzz on some bass tones in driver side door panel in area of arm rest closest to latch side, so took off the driver panel and really tightened things up in there and added extra dampening material. We'll see if that fixed the problem today!!

gave the rear a bit of flare with some help from VHT spray can. I must say I do like the way it turned out. Badges are next, not sure what I'll do, but all the chrome should be no longer when I'm done with it. Constructive criticism welcome ;)

Looks good, will look better when badges are done. Only thing I'd change is keeping what's clear, clear and what's red black/ smoked.

Could you provide instructions on how to install being that it is a bit different?

Sure, the only thing different is on the G37 the whole ignition button comes out (with chrome trim). On our cars you must remove the chrome trim, then remove the inner part of the button(pushing up from the bottom of the switch where the plug is) leaving the outer part of the switch intact in the car. If you go to the link Putim37s nicely supplied you will see where the top of the outer ring containing the copper coils remains in the switch housing. I hope this helps!

That was helpful, thank you. I ended up pulling the entire switch out, what a PITA it was to put back in!

Don, can you elaborate on this ^^

1. So you pop the silver bezel off first? from the top with a small flat head screwdriver?
2. Pop off the driver side lower panel closest to the start button and then push the button (black inner core attached to the wire harness) out from behind?

I tried removing it from step 2, without removing the silver bezel and it really didn't seem to want to come out, the small portion of the button that I could see from the top did not look exactly like the replacement start button I had bought, so I chickened out thinking I might break something

Exactly. What I thought would take less then 5 minutes to install, it took me a 1/2 hour. I feel the same way when I change the 194 parking lights.

I'm not sure how you got the whole switch out? On the 2015 model I can tell you there is no way you are going to get the whole switch out. The 2015 has another plug attached to a bulky piece of plastic that is attached to the outer switch housing. And yes to confirm the chrome trim has to be removed first.

The 2014 is the same exact way in terms of the additional plug and bulky plastic housing. If you do enough twisting and turning that entire plastic piece can and will eventually come out. Also if you push from the bottom, then the chrome trim doesn't need to be taken off first

Put on Brakemotive drilled/slotted rotors and changed pads on all 4 corners yesterday.
This morning I bedded in the brakes - had to clean a ton of brake dust off my rims later...

Buzz is gone!!

Changed out the OEM engine cover with a carbon fiber one, along with a few dress up washers too - yeah, yet another of those special +0.01 horsepower mods!!!! :gapteeth:

Tried to get the start button out...managed to remove the chrome bezel and pushed it from behind, but it only came out about a third of the way. I can reach and feel the module from behind, after pulling back the panel on the RIGHT hand side of the steering wheel. I can also turn the whole button about 90 degrees COUNTER clockwise, but it doesn't seem to want to come out any further. I'm afraid I'm gonna break/crack something if I push any harder. It doesn't seem to want to move out any more. I was hoping anyone who's switched it out has any other pointers.

Put a clear vinyl wrap over my front strut tower brace that I had left over from a kit I bought for my M45, that I never put on. Hopefully that protects the finish from rubbing by the hood.
The next step is to get that FTSB bad boy on!!!

Don,

1. I picked up a anodized blue engine oil cap with vinyl "carbon fiber" center insert on Fleabay
2. I bought a used Infiniti trunk logo and used Duplicolor metalcast and stuck that on my carbon fiber engine cover with 3m tape
3. I bought the blue washers on Fleabay as well...something similar to these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/20-PCS-BLUE-BIL ... ET&vxp=mtr

I noticed that after getting mine on eBay, that you can also buy them directly from their website too: http://www.j-specialty.com/product-p/blu-020-wsh.htm

I then went to my local chain hardware store and bought some hex head cap screws (M6 x 25mm) for the longer flanged bolts I replaced (engine cover). I used the shorter stainless steel bolts that came with the washers for the shorter bolts I replaced (the 4 bolts for the front panels on either side of the air intake piece and the one by the hood latch).

I didn't want to fork over tons o' money like you can spend on some of the brand name anodized titanium bolts/washers. I think they look pretty good and you can't really tell even up close. I guess we'll see how they hold up for the next few months.

I'm thinking about painting the cap for the windshield wiper fluid reservoir as well as the power steering cap too. Problem with Duplicolor metalcast is that when your base color is different, even after priming and repainting it with the new chrome base, the effect still looks different on different pieces. I guess I can always buy replacement bits, if I f*kk it up.

hope this helps,

BTW, is there a trick to getting the start button middle portion out?, I can't seem to push it out from behind. I got the chrome bezel off, and I can get the whole thing (inner start button with the lettering and the cylindrical outer part combined) about a third of the way out, but it doesn't seem to want to move out anymore regardless of how hard I push. I can rotate the whole piece at least 90 degrees or more, but just not up and outward...

Thanks for that link! Ordering a red set now.

As for the start button, I don't think I even bothered taking the chrome part off. All I did was continue to twist, turn and angle the plastic bulky piece to the point that I was able to pull to straight through the hole. I said it before and I'll say it again, that thing really is a royal PITA.

If that doesn't help, let me know, and I'll go back and relook at how I got mine out in hopes of providing more strategic advice. Good luck with it though and please reach out if you need further guidance, I don't mind.

New battery today: Bosch Platinum Series AGM Battery Group, Size 24F, for $160.
During removal, I kept a small 12V battery attached to the posts to avoid losing our saved settings.

The Infiniti factory battery lasted a long time (5+ yrs), but it died yesterday.
Boosting this car is a PITA, cuz it doesn't just start (when jumpered) like all other cars.

Installed my GT Spec front tower strut bar, had to do some pushing and wiggling to get the mounts in place, but it does fit.

Haven't had the opportunity to push it in the corners to see if it feels better than stock...but even if it doesn't, I like the way it looks

Final lowered my Q with BC coilovers, seem to have a bit of "bounce" in the rear. I set the damping at 6 front and 4 rear. Anyone else experience this? Let me know I would like to lose the bounce out back. I will post pics as soon as I figure that part out!

So I actually bought this used off of a G37 owner while perusing the classifieds of myG37.com. To my knowledge, it is no longer being manufactured by GT Spec. The bar only comes as polished silver with blue bar mounts. Tanabe makes a front tower strut bar that fits the M37, but it doesn't look as "beefy." the only other possible option that I can think of is the Cusco FTSB for the G37 - there's a good possibility it should work if the GT Spec one fit ok, but I don't know that for sure.

I used Duplicolor Metalcast anodized blue to paint my bar and repainted the bar mounts white to better match my car's color. I then used some leftover Rvinyl clear protection to wrap the bar to keep it from possible being scuffed by the hood. However, after I changed out my engine cover to a carbon fiber one, there don't appear to be any rubbing issues on the bar from the hood, because the engine cover sits lower and I can get my bar lower too.

Try running more damping. When I had B/C, I as 16 clicks front - 12 clicks rear was where I like it.
