So, its been a while since I've been here. I made a few updates to my car...

1. Finally got the AERO front end
2. Black grill
3. Painted Emblem
4. Got some wheels on it

I'm not planning on lowering the car. Where it sits now, I don't hit curbs. I don't want to mess that up.

5. This is the big one. I think I'm the only guy here with this. Its called an R-Plate (RPLATE). This is an electronic plate that pulls data from the DMV and allows me to make slight customizations to it.

That is really boss - too bad it's only available in parts of Cali right now. I think I'm gonna have to get one when they're available in Texas.
BTW, car looks really good too - Pearlized white is a great color on these cars IMHO, but I'm a little biased :gapteeth:

Also very impressed with all the mods in here. Picked up my ‘11 37S in 2015. Couldn’t wait to get at it but s*** hit the fan which set us back 3 years. So happy I didn’t sell the car and finally my tanabe coilovers (and tanabe front strut bar for Q50 which is M37 fit verified by this forum!) are being shipped this week. Will post pics after install :)
Did you ever get the Tanabe front strut bar installed? I'm in the market for that or the Cusco and wanted to see how easily the Tanabe is to install and pics! Let me know

Sorry for the delay man. Wanted to post pics but don’t gave the time to figure out how. Tanabe front strut bar installed like a glove. And the coilovers ride like stock on the lowest setting. Extremely happy with both. Time to stock up on parts all winter to get ready for Spring 19: spacers, intake, exhaust, and a couple other JDM suspension and cosmetic items that caught my eye...

Doing maintenance. Fluids, brakes etc. Helps having a Quickjack to get the car in the air fast.

Was getting a hyperblink on driver side turn signal, thought my LED bulb was out (which would be unusual) - turns out it was the negative wire had burnt out in the socket for the resistor I had wired in to avoid hyperblinking using LED bulbs in the turn signals. Removing the tail light took the longest, but I had done it before, so wasn't too difficult. Soldered a new one on to the negative wire - electrical taped everything tight and buttoned it all up...Bob's yer uncle.

My first long road trip with my 2016 Q70 from NJ to Florida.

Image

Not bad MPG! All regular 87 Octane of course.
Best MPG on a single tankful was 25.71 from Ga state line to Lake Worth Fl. 327 miles and 12.718 gallons to fill up Second best was 25.44 from Ashland, Va to back home in NJ 307 miles and 12.067 gallons to fill up.

Two fill ups in Florida with the wife making lots of short trips
The lower MPG on the third fill up on the way home reflects the driving in a heavy snow storm last Sunday in North Carolina

Had to spring for a car wash as my Q was a mess

It may have been fixed in newer revisions, but am I the only one where the fuel eco history doesn't show anything meaningful?

I ended up putting new tires on Nexen N5000 Plus https://www.nexentireusa.com/tires/n5000_plus/14481). I'm not doing any performance driving or anything. I used to do lots of highway driving but now have a company car.

These tires have performed well and really hold up to the loads of highway miles (averaged about 30k miles per year last couple of years).

Had the transmission flushed and rear diff serviced (about 61K). Shifts are noticeably smoother. Would highly recommend, especially if feel like your shifts are a little abrupt.

If the transmission fluid has never been changed (I’m at 52k), would you still recommend this? My shifts are definitely pretty abrupt, this is one of the first things I noticed about the car but assumed it was normal. I know two people who did this with higher mileage on their vehicles and the transmission failed almost immediately after for both of them. These were Acuras but my concern is still there.

My aftermarket warranty is about to expire (2011 M56s) with 146k so took it to the dealer for a detailed look over. They are replacing the hood struts, hood latch and AC compressor, plus there is a leak in the upper radiator hose. Other than that car is in great shape.

Also test fit my winter wheels from my wife's old Maserati. I am going to run them in the winter and sell the black powder coated 20" sport wheels I have been using for winter. Now that the warranty has expired I can run staggered in both winter and summer. They are 245/40/20 and 295/35/20 front rear.

I also did a DIY ceramic coating after a polish a few months ago and love how clean the car looks.

Purchased two weeks ago at ABQ dealership: 2013 M37 with 58K on it, black in and out, and kept very clean by previous owner.

Today I installed a Pedal Commander (PC51). Now the car drives like I was hoping it would when I bought it. Still a little hesitation when driving around 30 mph, but the torquey punch missing without it is now there off the line, and on the highway.

I should have done my homework before buying the car. I had an '03 I35 and man o man I was in love with the linear and reliable torque.
I had no idea the M37 is without cable (like the I35) and instead just an electric wire deciding for me. Just...Why? Why??? When it puts you in jeopardy on the road, why the hell. Who approves stuff like that at the factory?? Some jerk off. Makes you wonder if they even drove it before selling it. ?

The other day I nearly got slammed by green lit traffic when inadvertently sneaking through a quickly gone "left turn" green arrow. Not cool. I realized my mistake and punched it. The car took a whole second+ to respond to my foot. People honked and I don't blame them.

Then I read up and see everyone else complaining about lag and hesitation, and it was a serious downer. Because otherwise the car is pimpin'. Such a fabulous vehicle in and out. But a let down off the line, at 20-30mph, and in situations when you need torque driven warp speed to evade danger.

The PC51 does the trick. Hope it lasts at least a few years.

Also installed K%N air filters. Was gonna look into Top Speed CAI and Stillen cat back exhaust, but the PC51 I think will be good enough. A $1200 savings on parts alone. Damn.
But if anyone in the know thinks those things will do something for me above and beyond the PC51, I'm all ears.

Loving this car tho. Feels like a million bucks sitting in it!

I also replaced my air filters. Went with WIC off Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004X ... UTF8&psc=1

While installing them my hood struts gave way and the hood slammed on my head (no injuries) so I got new struts as well.
