What did you buy for your EX, this week?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

What intake is that?? The only one I could find was from Stillen, and more than I was willing to pay.

That is just a generic style for a G37 from ebay. I figured I would go that route to see how it would fit before I decided to shell out big bucks on a Stillen or other big name. But overall I am very happy with it. I think down the road I will replace the filters with some K&N and call it a day!

I am close to pulling the trigger on the exact same stuff. Tell me, how do you like it? Power, sound, MPG, response?

Thanks!

Definitely feel more difference in the higher RPM range. Above 3K the vehicle pulls a lot harder than it did, has a throaty scream to it, and it is a lot more responsive. Its great when overtaking vehicles on the highway, or merging into traffic and such. Mileage seems to be the same for me, but I am also playing with the vehicle more than I used to for the same reasons. When I start to drive "normally" again the mileage should go up a few more MPG.

Installed H&R lowering springs. Installed new Power Stop slotted and drilled rear rotors and rear ceramic pads. Now all four corners have the same pads/rotors. Flushed the brake fluid with silicone Castrol.

When using Carbon Fiber cover, do you have hard time unlock or lock the car comparing without fob key cover?

I have a metal cover which is very suck when unlock or lock a car. Car has difficult time recognize a fob key.

YES! The range is significantly affected with the carbon fiber key case. I have even had the car tell me there was no key inside when I tried to start it. Its a shame because it is real sharp looking and matches my steering wheel bezel! I still use it just as much as the other, I just can't lock the car (or unlock it) from any real distance.

The silicone one does not affect the range at all.

Curious which TPMS sensors you got, and what the cost was? I'm putting my winter tire package /together and would like to utilize the TPMS, but don't want to spend a lot on just the sensors. I've never had a car with TPMS before so I know I can survive, but if they aren't expensive I might as well get some. Thanks

To be honest I don't know which brand of sensor I got. I was getting new tires installed at my local shop and asked them if they could investigate a slow leak I've had for years. They told me that the TPMS sensor the source of the leak and that it wasn't a serviceable unit. So I just went ahead and had them replace it. I think they have a flat fee of $90 or so for TPMS sensor replacement service. Not cheap, but it's about half of what my dealership charges for the same service.

After they finished the service I did ask about the new sensor. They said that they just cloned the ID number from the original one.

I don't know how much you'd be willing to spend, but I did see a few options on Amazon between $30 and $50 per sensor. If you don't already know this, keep in mind that you'll pretty much have to get the car programmed to sync up with the new sensors (there are a couple of ways to do this). Sorry if I could not be of any more help.

Got my winters on the EX last week. Picked up some Enkei LF-10 wheels and mounted some Hakkapeliitta R2's. Loving the tires, great in the snow and seem good on ice, although we haven't had much yet.

I'll be getting the windows tinted in the coming weeks, and have a G37S exhaust in the hatch waiting to get installed. Then eventually find an intake and then I'll be done the modding for this car.

Thanks, it was just a quick shot but I like how it turned out. The car is filthy, but it looks clean because of all the snow making it look wet lol. It's been sloppy here so I haven't had a chance to wash it with the new wheels on unfortunately. Maybe one day this week. Also hoping to get my G37S exhaust mounted this week.

. which exhaust did you go with? I was looking at the Invidia Gemini or Borla. Love to hear how it fit and any mods needed to make it fit.

I ended up getting a used G37S exhaust and had my shop bolt it up. The studs were rusted on pretty good, it wasn't worth my frustration. Outside of that, install was a direct swap.

It sounds good. Not as loud as I'd of liked, but at least I can hear the exhaust now, couldn't hear it at all with stock. But I kind of felt the same way when I had the UK mod done on my s2k, and I love that now. So hopefully this one grows on me. If you're looking for something a bit more subtle though, it's perfect.

Oh yah well not much upgrade from stock i would assume. The aftermarkets upgrade piping size and sound alot better. Some of the clips I've heard sound badass. no difference in length?

Qx50/Changed headlights to LEDs much improved upgrade. All interior lights to LEDs. Not sure why they just don't do LEDs from factory so much nicer.

LED interior lights are an upgrade I want to do actually, makes a world of difference. Does anywhere sell a kit that includes all needed interior lights for the EX35?

you don't need a kit. just go on ebay and buy some festoon and wedge, 12V leds. there are dozens of types, lumens and energy consumption differences. 5730 smd is the style I like the best. Nice and bright and white.

I bought these and upgraded 3 or 4 cars - all interior, license plate and driving lights...

No, I haven't had the weather to install it. It looks like we may get a break in the rain this weekend and if so I'll get my hairdryer, warm up the roof and install it.
Stay tuned.
