Drove it!! Winter mods worked, brakes are nice, sounds great (downpipes, test pipes into single) and boosts like crazy! Just took it easy, nothing over 100km/h....for now

Plenum pull and injector swap, then did the 12v switched injector mod as well. Took about two and a half hours, I feel like I did it in a timely manner.

Two and a half hours for pull, 6 injectors, AND the voltage mod? :iconeek
You're my hero, I spent that long EASY buttoning up the jspec on the TT after adding a upgrade oil cooler and pop charger!

I cheated, when the motor was out I deleted EVERYTHING so a plenum comes off in 20 minutes rest of the time was spent on the injectors, 20 back on and about 10 on the voltage mod :bigthumb:

Over the weekend, I cleaned up the block and dressed the pistons. I have to get pictures, but I'm SO happy i bought new used pistons earlier: two of the old ones, upon inspection, were exploded in the cylinder before they came out. The ring lands came off in chunks looking like pieces of a really fat piston ring, and one of the pistons was melted...some really bad stuff happened up in there, fo' sho'.

So i'll be honing the cylinder walls too, apparently. I won't need oversized pistons, right? Stock diameter is good?

I got chrome faced rings...i'll be using 280 grit stones in the hone.

I completed my header install today after 2 days of working on it after work. They were eBay black headers. Major pain the a**, but I was able to do it without taking out the starter, transmission, steering knuckle or the oil filter housing. This was with the engine in the car btw-

Damn, you crazy :yesnod

Would have saved you a bunch of time to pull the motor and you probably would have found that your motor mounts were broken anyway while you were in there...

Took it to the track not even 2 days later.

And blew the motor on the second lap of my first session, just moments after those pics were taken.

Looks like the oil pan got dented. And ppick up got damaged. So oil starvation killed her on the track. BAD.
Pics of the carnage.

And.... I've lost 3 quarts of oil in 150ish miles. And my coolant is brownish.
So either all the surface rust in my coolant passages just got rinsed out, and I need to do a flush, or my HGs are blown.
Doing an oil change tomorrow. Oil went from really clean to really dark in a matter of 2 days. We'll see how long it takes for it to get dirty again. And I'm flushing the coolant system, so see if there's any change in coolant level or condition. But most likely, the HGs are bad. Meaning, another motor swap. I'm starting to get really irritated by this demon car.

I feel your pain, I've been battling Injectors(including P2) on my current Z for the better part of the time I've owned it. In three years I've put 10k miles on it and its supposed to be my daily driver... I've put 5k on my Honda since last October for comparison.

I'm pretty sure it will work for NA or TT.
