Hey sftroy, I live on the Peninsula and I'm currently looking to buy a sport model pretty much loaded. I was just wondering what dealership you purchased from. I've been talking to Peninsula Infiniti, but we haven't sat down to talk price yet. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

I sent an RFQ out to 4 dealers after I test drove the G at Serramonte - my initial responses to the RFQ were LAME so I tried using TechCU (credit union). TechCU was able to get $1500 over invoice.... not as good as the $500 I was able to get from Oakland.
Here are my thoughts on the local dealers:
Serramonte: they wouldn't respond to the RFQ other than telling me to bring in the quotes I received and that they would beat them. That isn't how I work and I told them to submit their bid.... haven't heard a word since. This is the same place that calls 3 times a week to see if I'm ready to deal. I test drove the car there and the sales guy spent a lot of time with me... shame that they didn't try to win the business.
Peninsula: I didn't quote them as they have never seemed interested in my business when I've stopped in. I went by there one night to look at the upgraded wheels (Perf. Pkg) and told them that I had an offer for $1500 over inv and that I could ORDER one for $500 over inv but that it would take 3-4 months to deliver. They stated that they had the car coming in and that if I was willing to buy for $500 over they would make the deal that night (after hours - ~8:30PM). They had the gall to offer MSRP after they looked at my 05TL trade in and took down all my info. I told them that it is a shame that they wasted our time and that I'm outta there.... Never heard back from them except for a form letter I received yesterday... They are lame.
Stevens Creek: Sister company to Peninsula. Same experiences with them. LAME.
Marin: A friend bought a G 1 year ago thru the internet - spoke highly of them. They never responded to my RFQ.
Oakland: Their first quote was crappy and I told them so. They happened to be the same dealership that my Credit Union was using... I purchased my car from them when they eventually dropped the price to $500 over inv. They are part of the Hendrick Automotive group so they have the hard after sales pressure to purchase all sorts of crap... Made the experience less than pleasurable.
BTW - Oakland has LOTS of G35s on the lot... I was shocked how many. And at all the dealerships I've been to in the Bay Area, there doesn't seem to be many people buying right now. I'm sure you can swing a good deal.
Good luck - let me know if you need any addl info....
ps - the car ROCKS!
