Y-pipe is your best bet. Exhaust is a great follow-up.

I agree 100%. Y-pipe is the best bang for your buck in my opinion. If your maxima is stock as of now, I recommend saving a few more $ and doing your y-pipe and catback at the same time while you're under the car. That is, if you are a DIY guy. JWT ECU is an excellent bolt on also but it is more costly (~550) and there is downtime unless you have a spare ECU kickin around.

What system are you talking about? IIRC the only system that Summit offers for the 4th gen Maxs is the Pacesetter and its not that good IMO.

EDIT: DURF! I thought you were referring to an exhaust. Tht's what I get for not reading the entire post.

The most you'll get out of a plug and pray ECU is about 15-20 HP. You can squeeze a little more out of a Greddy EManage Ultimate, but not a whole lot, until you start adding other stuff.

The Y-pipe is good for 15-20HP. Intake is good for 2-10.

IMHO, the most for your money, is suspension. You can go fast, but when you don't have to use the brakes to turn corners, that is when you leave the others in the dust.

I love the SE-L's Color man...

Did you remove the amber lens on your tails?

O and Yea. Doing a Y-pipe (which removes 2 pre-cats) and Catback is the next one I would do if I were you. Also I would slap in a Highflow cat while your down there as well. You will not only get a better sound but you will see more gains as well.

I asked the shop about the hi-flow cats, if it would be worth it. Their response was that the factory cat flows just as well as the "hi-flow" cats that you can purchase.

Just buy a turbo, seriously wasting your cash on bolt on's for your motor is a waste, I learned this the hard way. If you dont wanna go with F/I and you dont wanna tear into your motor for your N/A hp, I would suggest suspension and brakes, you can NEVER go wrong doing either of those.
