how do i replace the oil filter bracket with the longer TT one?
could i buy a j30T (vg30deT) motor and swap the heads and use it? I did some research on it and its the same as the vg30de except for the intake and cylinder heads. The vg30de is the same as the vg30deTT except for the cylinder heads and intake. SO would it be reasonable to buy the single turbo vg30deT and just switch the heads and intake?

just bouncing ideas off of y'all and double checking my research. thanks, Tyler.

j30T is not turbo and the vg30deT was never available on any vehicle in the US AFAIK.

T is for Touring in the J30. The only version available with a 5 speed IIRC.

really? well then balls, my bad. thanks for correcting me on that one. +1 on stupidity scale. well, i believe i've come to the answer to many of my questions.

It's going to take awhile seeing as im jobless still since my shoulder surgery, but im just going to get a vg30dett shipped here whenever i can afford, throw it on a engine stand and replace as many of the internals as i can afford after buying the stuff for the swap. after everything i plan to do and with the spare parts i already have, i will have a tt built motor and a TT stock motor without the heads for it. figured i'd do it this way so i could have a spare and a backup source of income incase of a emergency with my car.

once again thanks for bareing with my stupid questions. i know it has to get tiring. Thank Y'all, Tyler.

nice! yeah i've already got the block and crank from a n/a that blew a headgasket. that would be much easier and cheeper than buying a full jdm TT engine and then reworking everything. thanks for the advice!

noobie question time, what are 48p heads?

update time! been doing alot of research and reading up on swap info, riding in TT z's and figuring out what I would really enjoy in HP/TQ. One of my friends has a 400hp TT and to me it's holy balls fast, so i am going to be shooting for something in that area. Though, before I buy a swap I have decided to build my suspension and get my wheel/tire set up right so I can control power. Also, I'm not at a point in my life where owning a TT would make sense as I'm still in college and i could build it but not keep it up and end in destroying my car. So, it will be a while before i actually begin my engine build but I will be building my car for the engine.

So i know i need to upgrade to coilovers, get upper and lower control arms and possibly upgrade subframe bushings. Which models and companies should i go with?

Great call with your thinking you laid out above, taking it easy and being ready for your TT is wise.
For coilovers and the adjustable bits call Powertrix and I believe they still have the coilover group buy going on, he'll package your adjustable parts into the GB and get you the best deal possible for great stuff.

thanks! its taken a lot of thought to come to that decision but its whats going to be best. I'm not sure when I will be getting the money for this stuff because I'm flipping a car to get it, hopefully it will be soon. What spring rates should I get? I honestly don't know much about suspension other than how to change it out.
