Subject: Combined introduction with technical question
Hello Wes / all forum members,
thank you for welcoming.
vice versa to you, I own a QX 56, y.o.b. 2008, with now 78,600 mi on the mileage counter
I'm a German by birth, 60 years old and decided in March 2013 to leave Germany to life for the rest of my (hopeful many) days in Ghana, West Africa.
I bought the car in a good condition in Accra Ghana and drove it to my home near Kumasi.
I always gave the car to a shop called Japan Motors, Nissan Department in Kumasi to service it.
Unfortunately it turned out, that these people don't know what they are doing and, obviously can't read, because they filled in the wrong oil to the transmission box, besides some other problems they caused by the 80,000 mi inspection and maintenance.
I drove the car back home, approx. 25 mi. On the last few miles the car lost extremely speed and I couldn't speed it up. So I "crawled" the last few miles back home.
Since that time the car is standing unusable at home.
My question to the experts in this forum is: Can I solve the problem "only" by changing the oil or do I have to maintain the transmission.
I wouldn't call myself an expert, but what we call in Germany an "very interested hobby screwier". I found so. who is very experienced in car repairing/maintaining and willing to support me. Therefore I believe with some advices from the forum experts we'll be able to fix the car on our own.
Thank you very much for any help in advance.
Henry
