Congratulations. Feels good.
Another thumbs down for eBay/Amazon auto parts.

Thanks. Ive actually had really good luck with Amazon parts, just not for the Z.

Drove it this morning to get coffee. Had 2 stumbles getting back on interstate but the cleared up. Check engine light came on last night and is still on. Hooked up the scanner and of course no codes. Will be putting the ECU int diagnostic mode to check for codes.

1 thing is I'm getting a bit of a rattle sound from under the car if I hit it hard in first or in neutral. I'm wondering if the cats are starting to go. Looking into new cats and offroad pipes and new O2 sensors. This car being OBD2 means I have downstream O2s to deal with.

Really glad to hear this! I hope that's it and you erm your son, gets to enjoy the car for a long time. Dealing with downstream O2s is easy on early OBD2s. Spark plug extenders drilled out to fit the sensor work wonders. I have a set on my 540i that has gutted cats.

I have spark plug anti foulers on the downstream O2s on my Xterra and the CEL eventually came on. Debating on whether to gut the cats, replace the cats, or go test pipes. Momma doesn't like the idea of "rigging it" meaning gutting. Direct bolt in cats with the lengths of pipe attached are pricey. I have found quality weld in cats for $70 each then have a local shop weld them in
