Way to use a button instead of turning ignition to start?

In some nissan commercials they use a button to start the car and this is cool but I noticed in the Rogue you actually start it the same way as normal. Is there a way to make it a button ignition?

Perhaps, but if you did then you'd have no backup for when your Intellikey freezes.. I need to use my manual key about once a week when it gets too cold.

Otherwise, I can't see it being an issue, seeing as really all it is is an electrical contact.

This is one thing along with not having a locking gas cap that Nissan cheaped out on. There other lines have the push button start. Not a big deal.

My Infiniti has the same intelli-key and it has a push button. The FX however has the same intelli-key and like the rogue has a thing you need to turn on the steering column. The button is MUCH nicer. Also, my Infiniti has this little port in the dash (near where you would pop the front hood). You can stick the intelli-key into that port and even if it's out of batteries, you can start your car.

It's also worth noting that starting you car probably isn't the largest concern when the battery dies since you'll likely not be able to unlock and get into your car.

Hence, it's important to change the batteries every few years.

Also, did they actually show a commercial with the push button starter? If so, then that's two screw ups for Nissan since they clearly picture the car on their web site with auto climate control. Tisk-tisk, shame on you Nissan.
