Well, I think I may of ran into a major problem. While on the endless search for more power, I decided to remove my A/C system one day tohelp drop some weight. Well now that I have my motor (KA24E) back together, I seem to have encountered a big problem. Well apparently the pully that drives the water pump, was driven buy the pully on the A/C compressor. I myself thought I should still be able to drive the water pump off the crankshaft pully, but it doesnt appear so. I tried getting the belt on there, but the water pump pully is a good inch closer to the front of the car then the cankshaft pully. If anyone else has had this prob please let me know what to do.Ryan

your waterpump belt goes around the crank pully and then the alternator. There is a tensioner on the alternator you can loosen/tighten to get your belt on and off.

So is the power steering pump also powered by the same belt? I just got in from taking some pix and you can eaisly see the diffrence in alignment between the water pump pully, and the crank shaft pully. Let me know if you think this may be helpfull and I'll post it.Ryan

OK, well since I have off work today and have nothing better to do, I decided to go ahead and show off my computer graphics skills. In the picture below arrow "A" is pointing to the crankshaft pully, and arrow "B" is pointing to the water pump pully. As you can see they are misaligned buy a good inch or so. This leads me to believe that if the water pump pully, is driven by the crankshaft pully, it (the belt that is) will either fall of, of shred from this misalignment. If anyone knows elsewise please let me know. This is one matter I'd be exstatic to be wrong about.Ryan

nope.

there are 3 belts on the ka24e, and they go like this.

1. power steering, top tensioner, and crank pulley2. a/c conpressor, bottom tensioner, and crank pulley3. water pump, altenator, and crank pulley.

he needs to flip the water pump pulley over. it will line up with the middle pulley on the crankshaft pulley assembly which lines up with the altenator.

just for future reference...

1. power steering is first pulley on the crank assembly.2. water pump and altenator the middle pulley.3. a/c is the last pulley.

Yeah, actually after reading your previous reply nad becoming severly annoyed by the possibility that I did put the pully on backwards, that I went out and switched it around. and VIOLA, everything lined right up. Thanks for all your help, and hopefully I'll be out leaving tires marks all over the city before the weekends over.Ryan
