got a little problem here, i ordered a water pump which part # i got from the crossover parts sticky, and a ca18de pulley. Now the pulley dosent fit, the water pump's shaft is way to fat for the pulley. I remember reading that you have to use a ca18de pulley so your fan/clutch don’t come flying off, so im a little confused here.

Water pump 21010-V5528 (CA18) until 8/90 Water pump 21010-V5529 (CA18) from 8/90

not sure which of the two is the one i got, kinda lost the box.

OK, first of all, I'm sorry about the problem you're having.

The problem is that you need to use a water pump from an S12 with a CA18ET. We have found that using a FWD CA18DE water pump can cause problems. If you get a FWD water pump, that fixes the problem sometimes, but not always. I haven't heard of anyone haveing problems with the CA18ET water pump.

If possible, return the pump(s) you've got, and get one from a CA18ET.

it can be used, and a pulley will have nothing to do with it...u can machine a press fit bushing for the fwd pump and your golden....

well, i dont think i have a CA18DE water pump, cuz the FWD CA18DE pulley dosent fit, but the pulley(CA18DET) that came with my clip does fit; so thats what throws me off.

i dont think the ca18et from the 200sx works i just changed mine after learning that the pulsar one couldnt handle the fan so i got the 85 200sx ca18et one and today it started leaking like crazy like it blew and it sounds like there's something in there too....imma take it out soon and find out what was causing it...man third time in a month

nm i realized my pulley was bent a little..actually it was barely visible but i guess thats what caused the water pump to crack in half..yup

so would the ca18et pulley work with the ca18et water pump for clutch fan?

It should. I'd take your bent CA18DE one out to the junkyard and compare before you buy it.

And just to RE-IDERATIER (I'M A RETARD), I've never heard of anyone have a problem with the CA18ET water pump.

ALSO, I've compared the impeller of both pumps, and the CA18ET impeller is a MUCH better design and will flow more water.

hahaha

hahahahhahahaha ryan got owned!

good stuff. CA18ET pump and pulley and you're fine. Or CA18DE pump and pulley and NO CLUTCH FAN and you're fine too. I've run both for quite some time with no problems until I put a clutch fan on the pulsar pump. Which caused my year old flawless pump to fail within minutes.

are all 200sx between 84-86(?) ca18et? cuz at autozone they said there was a turbo and a non-turbo but both were the same, and at the junkyard are there alot of ca18et's?

The following have proved problematic.Water pump 21010-V5528 (CA18) until 8/90 Water pump 21010-V5529 (CA18) from 8/90

OK, i know that i used one of these part# at nissan, and got a water pump on which only the ca18det pulley fits; and the ca18de pulley does not.( shaft to fat for DE pulley). so im assuming one of those part numbers is for a s12 water pump. please correct me if iam wrong
